Supporting wellbeing and empowering your child and family’s needs through play therapy

Flourish Within is the place for you, your teen and your child to seek support for families with everyday challenges. Including behaviour, emotional dysregulation or neurodivergent support – the help is here.

Welcome, I’m Sarah! Founder, Creator and Play Therapist at Flourish Within.

I created this special pocket of space in Swan Hill to provide a safe, authentic and thriving little pod, accessible to all families to engage in therapeutic play.

As a deeply passionate play therapist, retired teacher and mum of 3, I understand the challenges and supports needed to help families. Together we can explore tools, work on individual goals, investigate your child’s inner world and get to the bottom of what’s really going on. Every child and parent deserves a voice. Why “Flourish Within”?

🦋 Flourish – to grow, bloom and develop in a healthy, vibrant way through the right environment.

🦋 Within – the inner world of the mind, heart and soul.

At Flourish Within, your child grows and blossoms because of who they are on the inside.

Meet Sarah

A safe space for your child

At Flourish Within, children are supported to express emotions, explore their inner world and feel safe being themselves.

Children don’t need to arrive calm or “perfect”.

They may be feeling shy, overwhelmed, frustrated or unsure. They are welcome exactly as they are.

What is Play Therapy?

Play Therapy provides children with a vehicle to express their needs, challenges and experiences.

Engaging via toys and other resources, play therapy enables them to communicate in their own way. Play is how children communicate, much like adults using words. It is an allied health model similar to counselling.

Play Therapy enables expressive thoughts to be shared where the therapist can help vocalise their challenges and turn these into therapeutic processes of change.

For all Families and Children

Flourish Within is a neuroaffirming, trauma informed service.

A meaningful approach that encompasses and grows alongside your child as they are supported to embrace their needs, strengths and unique ways of being.

Every behaviour is communication and with me as your therapist and guide, we’ll use these clues to find a better path forward.

How I Can Support Your Child and Family

🧸 Play Therapy

Providing guidance, understanding and practical support.

Kind Words from Those We Support

“Our school staff have been working with Sarah for the last 18 months in assisting our teachers and ES staff with strategies to use when working with and engaging some of our neurodivergent students. We have found Sarah to be thoroughly professional, very knowledgeable, helpful and a great resource for our school staff, students, and families and will continue to use her expertise into the future.”

— Mr Paul Aikman, Principal Donald High School

“We have been clients of Sarah’s for over 3 ½ years, and the support she has provided has been invaluable. Her kind and compassionate approach, combined with her ability to genuinely connect with my daughter, sets her apart. Sarah is a strong advocate for her clients and their families, and I would not hesitate to recommend her services.”

— Nicole, mum of a 14 year old daughter

“Our son has been seeing Sarah for nearly 4 years and the progress he’s made, especially with emotional regulation, has been incredible. She creates a safe, supportive space where he’s learned to manage his feelings with growing confidence. We’re so grateful for the positive impact she’s had on our family.”

— Kirsty, mum of an 8 year old son
